Kindergarten - All Day

For the 2010-2011 school year, Sacred Heart School is very pleased to be able to offer full day Kindergarten. This is an opportunity for your child to get off to a great start with their education. The classroom will have a classroom teacher and a full time aid throughout the school year. NOTE: Though it will be a full day, the Kindergarten curriculum and the amount of work for each student has not increased, only their time at school.

The morning class time will focus on the academic curriculum, such as Language Arts, Math and the Sciences. In the afternoon the academics will be less intensive and more social based, such as free play, centres, quiet time, art, gym and music. The Kindergarten students will spend this time in the classroom as well as other areas of the school. Being a K/1 class, the Kindergarten students will continue to have benefit of older students in the class to interact and play with, which greatly benefit each Kindergarten student and help them develop and succeed socially and academically.
